The Tim Reeve Charitable Trust was set up in 2006 to raise funds in memory of a brave and much loved young man who died of acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) in December 2005.
Tim had one of the most aggressive types of leukaemia. Research into the childhood version of ALL has produced huge improvements in treatment and a cure rate of 80-90%. However, this is not the case for teenagers and young adults - only 30-40% survive long-term. Today, few people in the 16-34 year age group take part in clinical trials of new drugs and protocols.
The Trust's aim is to give teenagers and young adults with blood cancers a far greater chance of survival by supporting research and clinical trials and by improving access to information about complementary therapies.
Tim's courage, determination and positive attitude made a huge impact on his family and friends. He is the inspiration and driving force behind the Trust's work to help other young people like him.
